What is Glycolic Acid?

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA s), are naturally occurring substance that have been used for centuries to improve the appearance of skin. Glycolic Acid, derived from sugar cane, has the greatest ability to penetrate the skin due to its molecular size.

How does it work?

Glycolic Acid has the ability to act as an intensive moisturiser. This helps to loosen and dislodge the thick outer layer of dead skin cells and prevents them from reoccurring. The results are visibly soft, smooth, youthful, glowing skin which is hydrated, the appearance of fine lines is greatly reduced and a finer texture achieved.

In acne prone skin Glycolic Acid is able to penetrate into the sebaceous follicles where the build-up of dead cells is responsible for the acne process. When the bacteria blocking the follicle is eliminated by the deep-cleansing action of Glycolic Acid, it assists in controlling further outbreaks.
